MLB DFS Top Pitchers and Stacks

    Top Pitchers

Carlos Carrasco ($9800 FanDuel, $12200 DraftKings)
The Indians are at Comerica Park tonight and Carrasco is coming in as a heavy -220 favourite in this matchup. The Tigers haven’t been great against RHP but they haven’t been terrible either with a 20% K rate and a .314 wOBA. Carrasco’s numbers are decent as well considering 2 of his outings were absolutely horrible with a 14.1% SwrStr% and a 5.4% walk rate. Dating back to last season he has been very consistent against the Tigers as well scoring 50+ FDP in 3 of his last 4 outings when facing them. Likely to be a popular cash option on both sites tonight but he’s also one of the more volatile “stud” pitchers in the MLB so he could be a really good fade as well.

Tyler Anderson ($6900 FanDuel, $7500 DraftKings)
The Rockies are at Petco tonight taking on the Padres and despite winning 2 games in a row, they are still bad against LHP. 26.1% K rate against lefties with a .302 wOBA is bottom 5 in MLB. Anderson has been holding opponents to a much lower overall wOBA outside of Coors despite somehow struggling more with the HR ball, luckily HR’s arent something the Padres hit a lot of. Anderson also has outstanding history against San Diego averaging 34.5 FDP against them in his last 4 meetings with them. Look for him as a solid P2 option tonight.

Other P options: Rick Porcello, Joey Lucchesi

    Top Stacks

    Cleveland Indians
Along with being interested in Carrasco I am also interested in the Indians as a team stack tonight taking on Mike Fiers. Comerica has been a very hitter friendly park this season and Fiers has been struggling to prevent to HR ball with his HR/9 at 1.95. Opponents have a .390 wOBA when facing him at Comerica and for lefties that number goes up to .435 so overall we’re going to target the lefties here. The Tribe doesn’t have many good LHB so we’re gonna grab the 2 switch hitters Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez and Yonder Alonso who will likely draw the start as well and comes with nice HR upside.

    Arizona Diamondbacks
Junior Guerra has been cruisin for a bruisin and now the Arizona Diamondbacks are now his cruise director and their name is Captain Bruisin. Guerra has been getting by somehow with a 10% walk rate which isnt terrible his hard contact rate is 36.6% and his FB rate is 38.8% and he’s only managing a 9.5% SwStr% as well. Guerras numbers have been worse against righties so this makes a 1-4 stack the straightforward play here. David Peralta has been mashing so im interested, Daniel Descalso, Paul Goldschmidt and AJ Pollock are the other 3 to consider.

    San Francisco Giants
The Giants are at home tonight taking on Sal Romano and the Reds coming into this game with an implied run total of 4.4. AT&T Park doesn’t generate a whole lot of homeruns but I really dont mind that for a couple reasons, the Giants bats very cheap so simply producing runs will likely suffice and Sal Romano is awful. 5.53 K/9 with a 4.7% SwStr% and an 88% contact rate. This man literally can not miss bats even if the opposing batters went up there with toothpicks and like I said the Giants come relatively cheap because they are usually bad so guys like Gregor Blanco, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, Evan Longoria are guys that could really help you fit bigger bats or pitchers into your lineup tonight.

Other stack options: Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros
