    Cumulative Picks (2018-19) - #Picks - 6, #Tournaments - 1, Winner - 1, Top 5 - 2, Top 10 - 3, Top 25 - 4, Made Cut - 5

    Brief Tournament Information
    • Limited field event with 78 golfers. It includes 60 from the FedEx Cup standings, 10 from the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit and 8 sponsors exemptions
    • Weaker Field Event
    • NO CUT EVENT
    • Since the CIMB has been held at TPC Kuala Lumpur, there have been two back-to-back winners - Ryan Moore in 2013 and 2014 (-14 and -17, respectively) and Justin Thomas in 2015 and 2016 (-26 and -23, respectively). Pat Perez won last year at -24.
    • The winner, in addition to FedEx Cup points and official money, gets an automatic invitation to the Masters.
    • Weather can and often plays a role TPC Kuala Lumpur as it is usually hot, humid and wet. So there will be a lot of lift, clean and place.
    • With new greens that should play faster than years past, this course will be hard to judge how it will play. With it being a no-cut event birdies will be important. Scoring on the par 5s will be essential. This week I’ll give putting a look as well because of the severe undulation of these greens. As usual, T2G and SG:APP are always important every week.
    • As a correlation, the grasses are the same as Sawgrass (host of PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP) as they wanted to create conditions similar to other PGA Tour events.
    • The lock is WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

    My Top Picks This Week

    DK - Above 10k

Xander Schauffele (DK $10400, FD $11800, Odds 16/1) - Can make the argument for any 10k (especially Justin Thomas) but I’ll take the discount on Xander. Top third in the field in all of the stats over the last 24 rounds. Finished third last year and runner-up at the PLAYERS last year. Current form is great with only one missed cut in his last eight events and three top 7 finished. He’s a good pivot off of JT.

    DK - 9k

Rafa Cabrera Bello (DK $9300, FD $11100, Odds 28/1) - Not a big fan of this range but I'll to RCB. RCB has excellent current form making ten consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour since April. Ranks high in my model in all stat categories in this field. Has two back-to-back T10 at the CIMB in 2016-17 and a T4 and T17 at the PLAYERS in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Solid all around golfer.

    DK - 8k

Kevin Na (DK $8600, FD $9400, Odds 40/1) - Rounded into form during the second half of the season with only one missed cut in seven events since he won at the Greenbrier in July. He ranks in the top third in this field in my stat categories over the last 24 rounds. He has had some success at CIMB with a runner-up in 2014 and T3 in 2015. So he has upside. Even with the new grasses, this is a course that he can take on.

CT Pan (DK $8000, FD $8500, Odds 45/1) - Another golfer who rounded into form at the end of the season with seven straight made cuts through the BMW including a runner-up at the Wyndham and T4 at the Dell. He had a T17 last year at TPC Kuala Lumpur and a T46 at the PLAYERS last year. He is solid T2G and on approach in this field and middle of the road with his putter. If can putt field average, then he should find himself in contention come Sunday.

    DK - 7k and below

Chez Reavie (DK $7600, FD $8300, Odds 55/1) - Going back to the well with Chez despite an average finish last week. Despite a loss of form during the second half of the season, he showed some signs of life at the PGA Championship (T12) and at the Northern Trust (T20). He has played the CIMB twice in 2016 and 2017 and finished T60 and T17, respectively. He has also shown some life at the PLAYERS in the last two years finishing T56 and T30 in 2017 and 2018, respectively. He is a little risky but solid T2G and can make birdies to make value for his salary.

Stewart Cink (DK $7100, FD $8600, Odds 80/1) - Continuing with the rounding into form, Cink has missed only one cut in his last eight events with three top 4s. He has three top 17s in four starts at the CIMB. Ranks in the top third on all the stat categories this week. This is an easier course that Cink usually thrives on.

Anyway, I hope that this helps you in your own process to select your golfers for this week. Please leave me any questions, comments, suggestions or any rants and touts you would like to discuss either here on DFSChat.com, on twitter @algertorr, or on DK/FD/FDR jayalger. Good luck this week and hope one (or more) of you readers take down a GPP!
